Just wanted to say "WOW"! Was looking around the Dethleffs website and I just love the look of this van - the front lockers are brilliant, lovely modern interior, innovative exterior, not sure about having a dishwasher in a van tho!!)
Just been to the show in Birmingham and came away quite dissapointed at the lack of innovation. I like the Pegasus, but mostly for the Alu-Tech, not the interior.
Wasn't terribly impressed by Stealth either - no way I could do without a front window. I liked the overall idea of a fresh new approach - but 3 van sizes, ALL with the same layout??? (and the cutlery drawer would not open due to the oven handle being in the way!!!)
Why do continental vans always seem to be a decade ahead?
Very glad to say, in all the vans I saw on Saturday - NOTHING came even close to tempting me away from my beloved Geist.
I totally agree with your comment re foreign vans. Unfortunately we are losing foreign manufacturers who are prepared to bring vans here due to the Euro exchange rate. We went to Camper UK last week and were told that Geist were not manufacturing for the British market anymore - we wanted one but not for a year or two and i was absolutely gutted! Already no more Burstners, don't now about Dethlefths and I wonder what Adria will do. By the time we are ready to change our beloved Adria will there be any left? What a terrible thought!

More than ten years ago we went to a caravan show at the Rai in Holland - and saw some stunning continental vans with layouts not even imagined in Britain at the time.
We buy a French caravan magazine every holiday - and the last one (September 2009) features all the 2010 models from continental manufacturers, and there are some stunning features, both outside and inside.
British vans, even the newest models, tend to stick to 'safe and sound' - often meaning unimaginative and boring.
No way Gaz, I still sit in it for the odd half an hour! Sad I know! Totally smitten still and cannot imagine wanting to change it until my two boys outgrow the bunks. Just wish there was a bit more caravan eye candy out there - had SUCH high hopes for Stealth and really wished them the best of British luck prior to the show - but I can't honestly see them selling many units - they are completely impractical for families - I would say that they need to redesign the range into 3 layouts, with the 6 berth catering for children. As it stands, you would HAVE to use an awning to have any evening space after kiddywinks are asleep.
We thought the same, have been very unimpressed with the layouts, Would be no good for us having to sit in the awning once kiddies are in bed as we go all year round, Would be very cold in the winter sat out there! LOL
Also don't like the big black front of it, Looks like a horsebox! LOL
Glad you are still love your Geist though, Everytime we use ours are more and more impressed! We are off to Devon Saturday for the week, can't wait.
