Hi we are on holiday in York and have just come back from a lovely day at York minster and the van is really hot.  There is heat coming out of the fire and all the controls are set to off.  We have a Coachman Laser 590/5 and the heater is a Truma can anyone help?

do not like the sound of that,sounds like a short somewhere.take out the main fuse on the wall switch and call an electrician or a service engineer. the controls on the fire are for gas and blow air only.

Truma ultraheat electric heating?

I would imagine one or more of the relays that switch the elements on and off are stuck on.
More often they fail open so no heat but do fail on from time to time.

Solution is to replace the control board which contains the relays, here I can help as I supply serviced exchange boards fitted with far better quality relays... and their cheaper than buying new

thanks for the help have pulled the fuse out ,we do know how to use it properly have had the van since may so have used the van lots, its still under warrenty so will be taking it back when we get home ,hope it will be a simple job and wont be out of action to long.!!!!!!

I always knock ours off at the space heater switch, took us a while to find out how to knock the controls off! Nearly cooked one night at keswick in february whilst in bed!!! LMAO
