Thanks havent been out it in yet but really lookin forward to gettin a weekend away as soon as I get a bit of time of work considering maybe goin to the lake district next summer
Is the caravan called 'Maurauder Advantage'? We used to have an old ABI Marauder which was a really good van. It was solidly built but with few of the mod-cons you get in the new vans today. The advantage is, the more basic the van, the less that can go wrong. We were very happy with our Marauder, but it may not be the same van? The weak point, from what I can remember was the edging of the surfaces, which came off very easily. The van had no fitted toilet but had a 'washroom' - we had our own seperate porta-potti.

Hope you really enjoy your new purchase, if you are thinking of going to the Lake district next summer you really ought to think about booking up now! I kid you not, the Lake district is VERY popular and you will have no chance of just turning up and getting a pitch.

I dont know if its a good or bad van im not up on any van really, what i do know is if you love it and have fun in it,and are prepared to do little or big jobs when the need arises thats all that matters. We have a 91 bailey pagent and i love it,old vans are the best :) loads of character.
Hi Murano the van is 1992 but when we went to the dealer and had a look around really fell in love with it it was immaculate and hopefully wont need to do much work to it paid just over 2500 for it David it has a wee toilet in it we'll see how it goes and if things go well hopefully we will eventually move to a more modern van!!!
Hi Gus we have A 1992 marauder and we have had it for 2 years its a Golden Cricket. Like DSB ours had a wash room but no toilet. We took out the wash basin and put in a porta potti. We love our "Jimmy " and have had many a good time away in him. We are going away for Christmas in him and are really looking forward to it. Ours is a dry as a bone and sound all over. It may not be new but it's new to us and he is all paid for. We have so far never had any adverse comments about him. To the contrary we have had plenty of people asking to have a look at him and are amazed at the amount of storage space we have. He has given us back our camping freedom and that is priceless.
John
Hi ya John this sounds great really cant wait the majority of the camp and caravan sites close over here for the end of October but cant wait until March when they reopen so that we can start using our new van thanks Ian for your message hope you and John have many a happy holiday in your caravans too!!

Hope you enjoy your van and manage to get out in it soon.
Our first van was an ABI Marauder and it was a lovely little van. Easy to tow and in excellent condition when we bought and when we sold it. Very tidy for its age. They seem to wear well, as I have seen others on sites that still look in excellent condition for their age.
