My previous van was a Bailey Pageant Provence, which we loved and thoroughly enjoyed. However we have recently bought an Elddis Crusader Super Sirocco and   when we looked at the Bailey Senator to upgrade to a larger van and then the Elddis Crusader, I felt the quality difference between the two in terms of build, particularly the interor made it an easy choice for the Elddis. To be fair the Elddis was more expensive and although I like Baileys and would have one again, for the moment the Elddis won hands down for me.

Where do Elddis get the names for their vans?!?!? Why on earth would someone name a caravan after wind?

What next? The Natural Disaster range, including the Elddis Earthquake, the Buccaneer Tsunami and the Avante Bank Holiday Drizzle?

I think I'd rather it be called an Elddis Earthquake than an Elddis 534.  I'm likely to mix up 534 and 543, but I don't think I'd mix up an Earhquake with a Bank Holiday Drizzle. 17

By the same token why for instance, Baily Pageant Champagne. I can understand Champagne in line with Bordeaux etc by why Pageant?

Elddis have always been named after winds ie Shamal, Typhoon, Sirroco, Gulfstream etc.

Well don't know about the quality of the various makes my self (that's why I'm here - it's informative!) but here's my tuppence worth on the names .. seems choosing `wind' names is quite appropriate as aero-dynamics are a consideration after all ! For camping - even caravan/motorhome camping, I do feel things associated with nature are both nicer & more appropriate. And agree that just about anything is easier to remember than just a number !

hehehehehhehe i have to laugh at the wind names for the elddiss's , we are getting one tomorrow, erm can someone tell me what sirroco mean in terms of wind then please?

just checked it out on the meaning,

"A Mediterranean wind that comes from the Sahara and reaches hurricane speeds in North Africa and Southern Europe. It is known locally as the qibli (قبلی i.e. "coming from the qibla".)"

wind is heading from the wrong direction but yes it still applies to me!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a gall bladder problem that means that i have the most terrible flatulence problems so it sort of seems appt for me at the moment!!! lol

Have the damn thing taken out - it's called having a laparoscopic cholecystectomy - I did and I've never looked back. Getting rid of it also means no risk of gallstones which if they manifest themselves, are extremely painful.
