Nothing about honouring existing warrenties!! Would have thought that that would be a big selling point. I'm not sure if i'd buy one unless that was mentioned

I feel you are reading far to much into it;
It appears its only the Administrators trying to attract a buyer by offering a "working" rather that a wholly dead company. That will not be motivated by any compassion for the workers, owners or product but simply to get a better price for the creditors.
That all said I hope for all the compassionate reasons stated above they are successful. I don't doubt that if they tried hard enough to get the product back right they could regain some of their once good reputation.
I think you might be reading too much in to it too. The newspaper clip is dated September 2008, and you know what they say...... even a week in politics is a long time!
The old Avondale factory is only about 5 miles south of me and I pass it often if I am going to Nuneaton. Absolutely no sign of life.
phewwwwwwwwwwwww we are buying a new caravan tomorrow and based this decision on the fact that the avondale that we wanted to get the factory had closed down! i read this and thought oh godddddddddddddddddddddddddd, and it put my mind in termoil again on the one we wanted to get, we have decided to go for the eldiss crusader instead on the basis that the company are still fully functioning and plenty of them and dealers around etc should we need anything in the furture, it was a really hard time for us to decide as we really like both vans.
im back to thinking we have made the right move with the eldiss yet again now after reading the replies
good news for sure,BUT confidence in the product and warranties in my opinion has gone now as a lot of folk were left in the lurch with there new vans.would i buy one? no i would go for a bailey or swift ect,as said what about the existing warranties.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

Michael - As DSB has already commented, the article is over a year old, Sept 2008, and nothing currently appears to be happening at the factory.
It looks as if PWC are looking to get rid of the caravans that are already completed and not starting production again , as was said there is no mention about honouring any warrenties for caravans already owned and now not covered . I have just contacted our dealer as the warrenty they gave us is just about ready to end and I wanted to take out an extended warrenty with them . I have to have a full service and damp check done by them (£150) and then the warrenty will cost £350 per year and will cover against water ingress add those 2 amounts to the £350 a year storage and £270 a year insurance as well as cc membership and general running costs , I'm just glad no one ever told me caravanning was cheap lol

What I forgot to say is that the Avondale Units are up for sale at the moment - I checked on the way to my hospital appointment yesterday! They are definitely shut!
