Hi. You know that table at the front of the caravan that slides and folds open? There are two sprung loaded clips/locks underneath that prevents the table from sliding and you pull both down to release.
Both my locks are missing the arm bit that you pull - there is just the lock itself with a hole in. It looks like the arm screws into the hole which is maybe 3 or 4 mm in diameter. Does anyone have any suggestions on what these are really called and whether I can buy just the bit that screws in or if I have to replace the whole lock? I'm thinking this must be a standard caravanny type thing?
I was at the iron mongers today - nothing like it there at all that I could find. I did buy a small lock but couldn't work out how to remove the old latch as the screws were underneath the sprung bolt. I think I'd have to take the whole table top and sliders to pieces.
I'm not much of a diy'er. I can see me never using this table!
our ranger also has a small bolt on the underside and is used open and closed.i have also modified ours to take a round leg to go on the underside.the exact distance from the unside to the floor, this goes onto a nylon round plug.this is removed after use.pictures if required.this gives full support at the front.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Why not buy a couple of small bolts and screw these into the holes that are there. Should cost no more than a few pence and a lot less hassle than trying to source identical replacements!
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
Hi - thanks for all your help - I think the idea about screwing in a couple of small bolts is the best idea if I can find some the right size.
Pete - its not quite like that, but thanks. I'm still trying to find a pic of what its like
