Went to caravan show at N E C, and bought new van. Coachman Amara 560/4 (fixed bed end wash room). Any got one or similar. Comments good or bad. We actually bought the Kimberly version, as we live near Kimberly, and it offers better spec than the standard Amara. Can't wait for delivery, should be just in time to go away for Christmas
We bought the Coachman Amara 550/5 from there and have nothing but praise for them. The guy who owns the company is called Mike (I think ??) and he is very hands on. He sold us our van at the NEC and was chatting to us while we was waiting for the service to be done a few months ago. I just thought he was one of the sales guys oops. I only found out after from the servicing team the he owns the place. The service guy was saying he doesn't miss a trick cos he is always out and about, which I think is a good thing because you get a lot of owners who hide behind their office door!
Hi Claire, hope you enjoy your new 'van. The guy at Kimberley is Mike, he is the owner. His son, Chris , also works there. He was also at the show . I suppose that makes him "second in command". Which sales man did you deal with ? I dealt with Kevin , I have known him for many years, way back to days of Spondon Caravans just outside Derby. We have bought several 'vans from Kimberly over the years.
So where are you going for Christmas? I'm afraid I'm at home but We are off to Robin Hoods Retreat in Nottingham next months for a few days. I bet you can't wait to get it
We bought our Kimberley coachman Amara 2 berth from there last march, its a 2000 model but is in immaculate condition. Service and attention to detail is second to none.
We bought our amara "kimberley" special in march. Its the 535 fixed bed model, the kimberley special means it has a similar specification to the pastiche. We are finding it to be an excellent van and love it. At the moment we are in Woodhal Spa and using mobile broadband with a t-mobile dongle for the first time. Move on to Sandringham on Wednes
hope you get your van on time for going away at Xmas
We have also been to the show & have ordered a Coachman Pastiche 560 Platium from Glossops, Hope to get it about February/ March, cannot wait to try it out, Hope all goes well as I have read some bad revieves on Glossops??
We went and looked round Glossop caravans when we was up there on holiday with friends (who was looking) last month and to be honest I was not at all impressed nearly every new van we looked in had loads of damage doors/handles missing, fridge door fell off when I opened it. To be honest it put me totally off the company because these were the vans that was going to get them a sale and the state they were in for brand new show vans was terrible.
But on a positive note they have nice customer toilets, just a pity they didn't give as much attention to there vans.
So good luck I hope all goes well for you I love my van
Hi Mick don't worry about it (good job hubby didn't read the post he would have had an heart attack at the thought of me buying a new van every 12 months)
My advice would be to check it over before you pay for it, and then if there is anything not quite right I'm sure they will fall over themselves to sort it for you on the spot
