We have just taken on an annual seasonal for our tourer, and want to get a large porch awning. What do you recommend, and why. The site is in Cornwall and can get some gales, although the pitch is sheltered by a large belt of trees from the south and south west. Look forward to some help.
Hi There. If you can afford it, an Issabella Magnum. We have this awning and it really is easy to put up and even tho it's classed as a porch awning, it really is roomy inside. They are not cheap tho but ours has been up in some pretty fierce winds and has stayed battened down without any extra straps. These are definately a case of you get what you paid for. Ours is now 6 years old and still looks like new and it's had some long stays as well. We did at one stage have a season pitch and the awning was up the whole season. Hope this helps. Jan

We put our tourer on a seasonal pitch this year & despite what motley says above don't see a problem. Seasonal pitches are regularly sold by touring sites in the same way that static parks often let out touring pitches. Each to their own motley - its called personal choice.
As for awning - any canvas & frame type. steer clear of the lightweights. it's not what they are designed for
I agree with the above comment We have also got a seasonal pitch for 2010 due to the fact our work would prevent us using the caravan on weekends. But now we will be able to just finish work get in the car and go, to enjoy our van on weekends. Each to their own
