Thank you both for your info, we feel a lot more at ease now about dealing with South Yorkshire Caravans-a bit of positive feedback makes the world of difference.
I think if we can get a decent deal we will buy from them. Like you say Bob they're on the doorstep and i think personally for us a good after sales service and good location mean more than the cheapest price.
It's no good buying something at the cheapest we can get it if it's miles and miles away and after sales service is poor!

Hiya tykey, no it was'nt me asking about storage, we store ours at dinnington, its only 10 mins from our house but thanks anyway.
rachntex, we were at dinnington today to pay for our service, no problems apart from the mechanic had forgotton to empty the bowl he had drained the shower in but when i told them he could'nt have been more apologetic if he had tried, other than that everything was good. atb Bill

We have had dealings with South Yorkshire Caravans and found them to be very helpful.
We bought our Elddis Bermuda twin wheel six berth from them and had problems with our fridge and they fixed it no problem! Only gripe is that when you buy a caravan from them, there is no battery, cable, spare wheel etc, something you might expect when you fork out nine thousand pounds.
I think we'll ring a couple of the other dealers we have mentioned (Glossop,Wandahome) and see what kind of offer they would do (even though we have no intention of buying from them) and see what South Yorkshire can come up with. Hopefully it will give us a good idea if we're close to getting a good deal or not
Just need to get a new car sorted now-hoping to have one in the bag in the next few weeks so we can pay full attention to the caravan trail!

Hi,
A little 'birdie' tells me that Wandahome sold over 300 vans at the NEC, which also probably means that they are doing some very good deals.
Plus, if anyone is in the market for a second hand van in the coming months they'll also probably have quite a healthy stock of re-sales.
So well worth a try.

Hi rachntex, I think I'm right in saying that Glossop caravans have had a few bad reports put on ukcs in the past ???. I'd do the same and ask if anyone has any bad things to say firewst.

Yes you're right-there have been several bad reports about Glossop!! We have no intention of buying from either them or Wandahome due to the terrible stories we have heard-but will probably just ring to see what deal they would do so we can use this as a guide with South Yorkshire Caravans when we're doing a bit of bartering.
Also Hi to Andi
Will keep you posted, love love love the camper but the drying out has just been such a problem. We didn't dare use her in our October break because if she'd have got wet we feared we would never get her dry due to the weather and the fact that she's in storage with limited access. Also the man of the house now wants to try Winter camping and its just a no no with our current set up.
p.s I see you're working your magic on Ethelburt-he looks fab
