We really dont want an awning (even a small porch awning) so was wondering where else we could store our muddy boots cos we seem to be tripping over them in the van - I suggested a large plastic bag (IKEA type) under the van and my oh poo-pooed this and suggested a tiny pop up tent!

Has anyone else found a remedy for this?

We put them under the van during the day and then in the boot at night.  If muddy put in plastic bags.

We use boot bags (from GoOutdoors or Regetta) for our boots and leave them in the boot of the car. If the boots are wet i leave the bags unzipped to allow them to dry.

Thanks for all the replies - will check out the boot bags and also the box with a lid is a great idea - once saw someone with cricket stumps with their wellies on!

A broom stick cut in half and hammered into the ground by the door, put the wellies upside down on them.

Upside is if it rains their self cleaning as the mud gets washed off, downside is their always cold to put on!

Have to admit  I'm with your hubby we use a small pop up tent for wellies etc-but you have to look which sites charge extra for this!

We just find a couple of sticks from surrounding woods etc, Place then in the ground and put up turned wellies on them. However can sometimes be a bit cold, but are self cleaning if it rains.

We can't be bothered with an awning either so we also use a large 'Really Useful' plastic box with lid and it goes under the van too.
