After a few months of research, viewing caravans and thinking about which direction to go,we are now about to buy our first caravan and part exchange our car for a more towing friendly model. Despite needing to fit in 2 small children (aged 2 and 5), we only have a small space in our drive to store it and do not want to go over the 3500kg max combined weight or DH will have to take a towing course and test which all seems quite expensive. So we are going for:
A Ford Mondeo 2.0 140 bhp diesel and an Eriba Troll 540.
So, how is that for a first outfit?
The troll is A 2003 and it has hot water which was an essential requirement for me with small kids so I can hose them down in the washroom. We nearly went for a new Sterckeman Starlett or Caravelair Antares from Freedom Caravans which we really liked the layouts and weights of but found some less good reviews of these on the French forums and decided in the long run our money might be better invested in an Eriba - which are also rather lovely and more my style. So in a few weeks we should be fully equipped for some winter travel.

I love Eriba's definitely a caravan I'd choose as said they hold their money well, I just love the look of them new & old & they last for years due to how well built they are.
