Judging by the weather outside and the forecast for tomorrow here in the Westcountry I am scared and also elated to be collecting my new to me van in the morning.
Lets hope I get my van there in one peice for the px and my new one home without drama.
Heavy rain and gale force winds.

i rang them with concerns about the weather and we HAVE to pick up tomorrow
my own fault really
took it in for quote on wednesday and when she said i had to take it back i got all female and blubbed (finding it very hard (emotionally )to tow due to last time )
I wouldn't worry too much, simply drive at a speed you feel safe at & let the other road users decide whether they want to sit behind or overtake you. You don't say where you're collecting from & going to but there's not many places that haven't got sheltered side roads you can use as an option to the main more exposed routes.
Let's hope you have a safe journey & enjoy your new van.
Because due to personal circumstances we have the caravan on a seasonal pitch and the site has to shut between Nov and March 15th. My car won't tow this van, we have bought it specifically because it is a great van for a seasonal pitch but not for touring.
Ali have you not thought about during the winter months having the van on a different site, then at least you can use it that way, surely you could get it towed to another site and then back again?
Just too much hassle The Fox, I don't have anybody down here with a heavy enough vehicle to move it for me for starters. I have access to a Bessacarr motorhome in the winter and will be talking to my friend about adding me to the insurance and having a go.
We do need to do lots of things back home too, so it is a good chance to catch up on chores ready for the caravanning season again.
I have purchased a 2006 Sterling Elite Searcher and am thrilled to bits with it !
Back to the journey as I now have more time. I drove the 50 miles with our old van and arrived at the dealers without my driving license, after a bit of an argy bargy I had to drive home again to get it and then back again to show it to the salesman !
A 100 mile round trip turned into 200 with me witnessing 3 vehicles getting blown off the main A35 dual carriageway due to the high winds !
As a previous poster stated I have gained that little bit more experience.
