You cannot change your Sky card between different Skybox's without contacting Sky. That is a real pain. If you want ALL the channels you get at home then take the Skybox from home, along with the Sky card and Remote. You could get a £20 card from Sky to use in your old Sky+ which will give you the Freeview channels or maybe the Freesat channels.
Mostly incorrect. You only need to contact `Sky if you want to watch premium channels. Otherwise just take your Sky card from home and insert it in the other digibox to watch normal channels like, Sky 1, Sci-fi etc. You can even watch a number of movies free on the movie channels withour subscription, i.e True movies, 24 movies etc.
Must agree the sky installer said its fine but to be careful putting it in and out as this can wear the card out and it would be difficult to explain to sky why it had been worn out ( mines a new card ! ) as i ts just usually left there infact I was questioning the installer and it was his idea as we have a seasonal pitch.
I bought a sat finder from B&Q cheapest I could find around for under £10 and was easy to use and found signal right away. I had been trying for days to find a signal without one- wounld do that again.

The Sky engineer has told you a load of old rubbish here! The sky Card is as durable as any Bank or Credit card as its the same type of chipped card but used for an entirely different purpose.
I use 2 non sky box's for my sky subscription, one in the house, one in the van and swap the card on a regular basis.
