I've inherited a Satellite kit.  My question is, as it stand I'd have to run the cable through a ajar window to watch sat TV or listen to radio.  F Connector (SAT) to F Connector (Receiver).  I thought i could use F's to coax converters to connect the cable to the external Ariel socket. But according to Maplins website the coax connectors aren't suitable enough to carry the signal. 

F Connector (SAT) > External Coax Socket (VAN) > Internal Coax (Van) > Receiver (Fconnector) 

There are cables that are of this nature but as I say above apparently they are not for this purpose.  I wouldn't like to leave my window ajar every time I pop out.  I'd have to disconnect the cable.  Any ideas?

I already have the coax with F connectors so I just use 2 of these.

that cable you show should be ok if you dont have the cable that comes with the Sat system

I lifted the front seat cushion, drilled through the front panel into the front gas locker (just like drilling through timber) at low level, fed the cable from under the seat, up behind the back board to where the set top box sits and with an F connecter fitted and the other end out through the hole into the gas locker where I have the lead connected to a socket.(see link below). Any time I want to connect up, feed an extension through the air gaps at the bottom of your gas locker, one end connected to your LNB & the other end connected in your gas locker. No windows need to be left open. Hope you understand this.

I use the same as pete no problem b&q or maplins about £2 a pop sorted also maplin do a flat cable to go through the window and you can still lock window
