Every time we cook breakfast or boil the kettle the smoke alarm goes off.  If you re-set it, it triggers again within a minute or two.  I have replaced it with a differrent one, but the same thing happens.

Is there a similar size device on the market that allows you to determine the re-set time instead of removing the battery?

Perhaps you should think about moving the alarm to a different place.

We had this trouble when our alarm was above the door to the kitchen. We then moved it to the other end of the lounge and now it only goes off when something really is amiss in the kitchen. IE, a pot burning dry or the toast overcooking.

If you contact your local fire station, they will send someone round (at no charge to you) who will advise you on the best places to site your fire alarms.

Smashed ours up in a temper last time we were out. Now doesn't work. Will have to buy another that is not so sensitive.

Have found that the cheap ones put in the vans are no good.

mines ok if the fan is on

You still have the battery fitted? I know that they are a good safety item but in a caravan they are a most impractical one if you ever do any cooking in the van it is inevitable that they will go off. So I have always removed the battery from the alarm as soon as I hevae taken delivery of a new van .
