Haven't had many this year.
Have a nice new (to us) van' now so hopefully a good few next year.
Best was the couple of days down at Longleat. Not sure why, but we really love staying there. Probably because its always a 2-night stop-over on the way down to Cornwall, so lots to look forward to. Was stiflingly hot this year though. Unfortunately the rest of that trip was marred by the car breaking down, & the appalling service we received from Toyota in Plymouth.

What was yours then...?
I wondered if any of us have unknowingly crossed paths during the year.

Mine was the second bank holiday in May. It was my first time in the caravan on my own, as I'd split from my OH only a month before. I'd been dreading going as I didn't think I could manage all the technical things like connecting gas and battery etc, but I did it - and more besides - and was very pleased with myself. I met some nice people on site, the weather was glorious, I went out cycling along the canal twice with the two dogs running alongside, and I chilled out in the sun with a glass of wine and a book. Brilliant!

My first trip in van having bought it and being new to it this year! We were only local down the road at Whitstable but it was brilliant, discovered loads about the van and us and we loved it. The kids thought it was great!

Probably has to be our trip to the gower in May, Although the weather was rubbish most the time and I ended up in hospital after being bit by the farmers border collie we had a fantastic time, Was so pleasantly surprised by the area as we had never been before and despite the weather we explored some fantastic places and have booked to go again in 2010.
Although our caravan year is not over yet as we are to derbyshire on Sunday. Woohoo

I really must get my eyes tested - I thought it said you'd been hit by the farmer's border collie! I was just about to ask you what happened! 24

Our best trip this year was in October.  It was the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend and we were camping with friends (about a dozen families) at a place in Ontario called Awenda Provincial Park.  The park is set in a large deciduous forest and the fall colours were absolutely beautiful.  We had a potluck dinner that turned out to be quite the feast -- two turkeys, roast beef, pork tenderloin, fresh veggies, camp-baked desserts, etc.  We sat around a large campfire eating too much food and drinking too much wine.  To help burn off the calories, we went for lots of hikes and bike rides.  Just thinking about it makes me want to count the days 'til the next big outing.  Here's a picture of our rig at Awenda taken on the same weekend a year earlier: http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2893967640045713555ZmqOdx

We had 10 trips away this year, they were all good, I think though the 2 weeks at Berwick on Tweed for our 40th wedding Anniversary was the best, great site and great place to visit.

Think ours was our first trip to Scotland, stayed at North Ledaig CC site and it was fab. Here's to next year's trips, can't wait til Easter!

Merry Christmas to everyone, especially those braving this weather to be away for xmas and new year! We chickened out at the last minute, but shall miss Scarborough next week!

Which site did you go to?
Our neighbours go to Royan every year (not caravanning) and love it. It is somewhere we'd like to try sometime.
