Hi, We have a meos 19" with freeview and dvd in our motorhome, we have not had any problems with it and as long as reception is good on a site the picture quality is excellent.  The tv is easy to retune and freeview and dvd are easy to use, (they must be as I have mastered them all!!!) I would have no hesitation is recommending this tv I paid £249 from wedodigital.co.uk and this also included a free wall bracket which we have installed inside our tv cabinet and works great for us. Hope this helps.

Cheers Sandra

I had already talked myself into this particular model as long as nobody came along with warnings such as 'Avoid this - it's no good' etc.  Since the only people with this make have relatively good reports about it then I think I'll 'splash the cash'.

Thanks everyone for your help - and Happy New Year! 24

We bought a Meos tv just over a year ago now from Wedodigital. Earlier this year the DVD facility failed on the unit. At this point I was unsure of how we would fare with this internet company and a failed componant. Our dealings with the company were efficient and polite even though the unit was several months old. They said that they would test the DVD unit and then respond to the problem. I was expecting a repair but in fact we recieved a new TV - which was the then current model with extra features to our original. I can think of many companies who would not have responded in this way. We have no complaint with the Meos tv and would definitely deal with Wedodigital again.

The laptop screen wouldn't be big enough for us, with our eyesight not being of the best (we use a 50" plasma at home!).  I was looking at this one;

Can I suggest actually looking at smaller TV's? I have extremely poor sight and found that the larger the screen the harder it was to see it. the small screens are much sharper, higher contrast and brighter and therefore easier to see.

It is also worth remembering that when you are at home you are probably a several feet further away from the screen than you will be in your van so when viewing portable TV's look at them at the distance you will be when in your van.

It does depends on why your sight is not as good as it used to be - I am assuming you have had test done to find out why?

Most people loose the ability to focus as they get older but it is also common to start developing cataracts which can creap up on you. I recently realised I could not distinguish colours of similar shades and had test done. They found cataracts in addition to the sight problems I have had since birth.

My cataract are developing from the center out so although not very dense they are having a profound effect. Operations due in a couple of months 24

Hi Dave

I had my eyes tested on 15th of last month and on Christmas Eve got my new bifocals.  My eyes were found to be helathy in themselves, just normal age-related wear and tear. It is remarkable what a difference the glasses have made to HD TV.  However, we sit in the van approx 7' away from the screen and with a small screen (less than 19") I struggle sometimes to see small text on the screen (like football scores in the corner of the screen), especially in SD.

Also, since we want the TV to double as a bedroom TV then we would prefer something bigger.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

We have a 15 inch Meos tv and it was not until the third unit that I got one without screen defects at first wedodigital refused to change the screen saying some bright pixels were normal but when I pointed out that these were 4 in a row and the TV was advertised at the as having a grade A screen they eventually changed it twice until I got one that ok, the pictures fine but be warned the screen is one designed for computer use so the viewing angle is very small particularly up and down so unless its at eye level you may be disappointed.

Unfortunately, we have had to buy a new TV instead of our 15 inch Meos (freeview / dvd combi) because of the problem with the viewing angle as described by sdrew56 - up and down was really limited.

The bigger / newer version may be better though (or be able to tilt backward and forward which our new one does).

Hi Moogler

In the link which I posted on page 1 (6th post), it says;

"The unit includes a sturdy table top stand which provides a solid base and low centre of gravity.
The stand can be tilted forward and backward to adjust the viewing angle. The stand can be easily removed for wall mounting or storage. The unit is VESA compatible. ".

It also has an animated view of how the viewing angle (vertical) can be adjusted.  Is this better than the one which you had?

Hi All, new here. I bought a Meos 20" dvd/fv Tv a while ago.

All is well except for 2 problems.

When viewing a bought DVD it always starts up with the 'subtitles' on.

Also after you stop & turn the TV off it never resumes where it was but always starts at the beginning of the disc with the sub titles again.

I wondered if anyone has any thoughts or knows how to stop this happening?

TIA
