We have a patch where the floor has delamination. It is about two foot square. Has any one had a similar problem recently and had the dealer fix it? If so what was the cost as I believe the dealer does it from under the caravan.
Unfortunately doing it myself is not an option I can consider no matter how much I would save.
kit to fix it is about £25 plus the labour time from a dealer and they are usually about £80 an hour and it is time consuming. try speaking to a mobile service person as their labour rates are cheaper
we repaired ours ourselves, brought a kit from ebay, if you dont mind a bit of diy u can do it urself and save a fortune ours was about 2ft square by the fridge, floor nice and solid now :)
Yes I did ours, bought a kit from ebay about £28, the areas were in the doorway and in front of the sink unit, so I did all the rear part of the floor, solid like new and that was two years ago. We did replace the entire carpet with a better quality piece, made the van very comfy. Not a difficult job at all and well worth it.
We were quoted about £120 for aq patch of about 6sq ft. from above. by a Bailey main dealer. Considering the mess and mucking about I reckon thats money well spent.
Not sure what a snakemaster has in common with delamination? Perhaps it may be better if you posted the question as a new topic.
Anyway the dealer has quoted £140 for the two patches which are each about 2 foot square.
Mobile engineer quoted us £120 and main dealer quoted the same. I phoned the mobile engineer on Saturday 02/01/2010 and left a message on the answer machine. When I got no return call I phoned again on Monday afternoon.
Decided to go with dealer as when speaking to mobile engineer and querying methods used to repair delamination, he seemed unsure of himself plus the fact he couldn't be bothered to return calls so what chance would I stand if tghe repair by him was not satisfactory?
Who said there was a recession?
Why dont you buy a kit off ebay? kits cost around £30 bought one from www.kellycraftproducts.co.uk camewith manual and did it myself.
The manual was okay but as im rubbish with DIY rang the number got through to a guy who talked me through it step by step, took me a few hours to do it and let it go off over night but worked a treat
Well worth it saving myself enough money for my last trip out to devon!!
If you can, its worth a try if your like me where every penny counts!!
