all been very quiet was wondering about anymore findings on your vans ?

heres a few snippets from our experience,

the insulation must be better than i thought.we had heating on in it all day today and there is still all the snow and ice on the roof , none appears to have melted at all so that must be working well. a cold spot under front windows & along the shelf seems to have gone now the vans been totally aired out and warmed up.

re-instated the onboard water tank , maybe its a good idea after all for winter vanning to keep the water from freezing then take it out when it warms up abit and use that locker for storage.

a very slight creak from where the fixed bed is fitted to floor, noticeable when sitting on edge of bed only.not enough to be annoying yet but will keep an eye ( or ear ) on it.maybe spray some silicone spray from under the fixed bed to the joining area if it becomes an issue ?

having issues with exterior locks on the many access doors freezing up and the seals freezing to the doors as well.difficult to to open as not much to get a grip on.not totally convinced about the quality of the locks either , seem flimsy to me but time will tell with more use.

what awning or porch are other pegasus owners using ?  we`ve not taken the plunge yet and will  wait `til spring probably.would really like to see other vans with awnings / porches to see how they look & fit before parting with any hard earned.

anymore views from other owners ???

We are waiting for ours to arrive in Feb, also a 534. We have bought an awning, Dorema, which they assured me fits the pegasus, infact the tried it on one after I called querying the fit. So hopefully when it comes it will!

Looked at the Pegasus 2 days ago for the first time. They had them in as new Bailey dealers at our local dealer. First impression as I drove past it, sorry I don't like the front of it. Inside was pleasant liked it but didn't poke around too much.

I can't tow something I don't even like the look of, even if the inside looks good.

Just personal opinion.

We have had our 534 out twice. On the second occasion at new year the locks froze. But inside we were warm and toastie. Tows better, more stable than our previous caravan (Bailey Moselle) despite being heavier. Pump noisy when in operation am having that checked on our snagging service.

No awning tried yet, we will try our porch awning when the weather improves.

No Pegasus manual, they gave us a Senator one when we picked the caravan up in November.

Can't wait to get away again

Thanks John Stewart.

I know about the download one and it is that I have been reading when I have a problem. However it is large and I have paid a considerable sum of moneys for the caravan and dont see why I should print one off.

Still waiting for our Pegasus 514. We ordered on the last day of the NEC Show (October 18th). Am hoping we'll get it before the end of January.

Had a good look round one at our local Discover on Sunday. It looked much better put together than the one we saw at the show!

Have already bought our awning - pushed the boat out and got an Isabella Commodore Concept. Beautiful awning and might never need buy another. Ordered the 'Pegasus' version that comes with the 'feet' (the bits that fit on the end of the poles, press against the side of the caravan and clip to awning beading [in case 'feet' is not the right word!]) that Isabella have designed for the Peggy.

Nice new vans for some but down the line will the re-sale value be lowered because of the 3 year requirement to have all the bolts that hold floor and sides together tightened? £350 plus the service (maybe another £150 annually) each 3 year period? Maybe I have mis-read the requirement but I do not think I would want that if I was to purchase second hand in the future.

Yes you have misread the requirement; it's presently a once only check on the tightness.
As regards resale IMO, if the technology works then these vans will hold their value like no others; if it does not then they will not and Bailey will be out of bussiness.
Personally I think its a massive technological improvement it the way vans are made.
