Hi, had  first look around our 534 at the dealers on sat it was straight from the factory warts an all, looks fine just a good clean up required ,sawdust mastic etc,  was ensured all will be fine when we pick it up in two weeks . had slight problem getting front gas locker door to stay up ,any one else found the same problem. hope all will be ok as taking it straight from dealers & putting it on our seasonal pitch.

We picked up our Peggy a couple of weeks ago. Dealer turned out to be chocolate fireguard, so please bear in mind if the name sounds like Ropey, they probably are.

'Van is fantastic. Lovely solid feel throughout. Teenage daughter gutted than when she storms out and slams the door, the whole don't shake no more.

as said above, the locker catches are fiddly, and you have to take care with the front locker struts. The pump is a little noiser, being an industrial looking beast bolted to the floor, it would make more noise than one dangling in a bucket outside.

Water system great. Heating great. Build quality great: some interior trim a little suspect.

I just could not own a timber frame van now: this is something completely different.

Braemar for the skiing for 1/2 term hols (Continental skiing was just too much money)

New awning: Dorema Montana, will let you know how it fits after the hols.

Lovin' it!

I am getting my 534 delivered on Friday.  Went up for hand over on Saturday and all seemed well.  The mastic is a bit over the top on the windows, but this can be trimmed back.  A couple of minor issues, but overall very solid.   We have a cover for it so hoping the neighbours will be happy with it!

Picked up our new Peggy 554 last weekend from that Ropey dealer, impressed by van not by dealer. Overall happy with Peggy and the build quality although after a 4 hour drive home found that one of the joining seals on the internal roof had fell off! A case of gluing it back on as dont want to go back to those Ropey dudes, any suggestions on what to use?

I would be far from impressed by a van if bits were falling off it after only 4hrs of towing.

And you can't ask Bailey for some glue either as there's didn't work in the first place

Took our 514 out on Saturday for a free overnight stay at a campsite near the "Ropey" dealer other's have mentioned, just to make sure everything worked OK, which it did.

BTW, we didn't buy from Mr 'Ropey' dealer - we bought from rapidly expanding outfit next door with whom we've had dealings for almost 20 years and have always found them to be excellent.

We were very impressed by the Peggy. It was very cold on Saturday but the heating system was excellent and warmed up the van to 22°C in no time, and kept it there with the fire turned down to position 3. Some of the trim, especially round the windows is a bit dodgy, but nothing to get upset about and nothing a bit of double-sided tape won't sort out. It would be wise to always check that the overhead locker catches are firmly latched as they don't always do so when you shut the doors – a quick press on them does the trick (a quick hinge adjustment could also sort it). The fridge is great – very roomy and very cold! We set our theromstat to around 3/4 to max position and it almost froze the milk overnight – had to dig it out with a spoon. Tried out the shower and that too was brilliant – it was so nice to be able to get dry without bouncing off the walls of the shower room like I did in our Elddis Crusader.

Roll on our first 'real' outing on 12th March
