As said in one of my previous posts my van has not been used since october 08 can any one recommend what to use to flush the system out with and any tips

use milton for the normal water system,mix it up in aqua roll then just use it as if it was normal water, leave it in the pipes for an hour or so, then wash the system through with fresh water and for to toilet you could get fenwicks toilet cleaner.

Hi.

I think that I have read somwhere that if you use milton it attacks the lining of the hot water heater? so check before you use.

oxfordboy, ive never heard that but that doesnt mean its not so, ive not had a problem with it, but it also might depend on what you water tank is made of.

i might look into that.

If you drain down your hot water system, why would you want to purify it?

You are hardly going to use that side of the system for drinking water from.

Like, I can see the point of sterilizing my tanks and the cold water pipes, but I would not dream of doing the same to my hot water heater. It darn near boils the water anyway.

Used Puriclean for years on the whole of the system and we drink the water and fill the kettle with the hot water and never had a problem 

I usually pop some in while setting the rest of the van up and rinse it out when when i have finished.

I the op has never cleaned the system before it could be a bit nasty in there

We always clean the system before every trip and use puriclean.
