We bought our Coachman Amara 570/6 Kimberley special edition from Kimberley Caravans, Nottingham - had to travel 150 miles to collect it in December and having had problems with previous dealerships we had dealt with, it was a very pleasant experience, both with jokey dealings at the NEC with Chris the owners son, and then at handover when Chris came to see us and everyone was so helpful. We got the caravan home and the shower screen had broken so Linda at Kimberley immediately arranged for Coachman to send someone from Hull to our home in Somerset to replace it, and has since phoned us up checking we were happy! Abolutely delighted with the aftersales from Kimberley - can't fault them!

Glad to hear someone has had good service from Kimberley!

They have had a rather bad reputation locally as quite often once they got their hands on your money they didn't seem to care - the exception being Linda who always cleaned up after the sales team had left.

Nice thought if the bad egg has turned good ?

Absolute disgusting company, my parents have been customers for at least 15 years having purchased 4 brand new caravans however 1 week ago my dad passed away suddenly having just as in 28 days ago purchased a brand new awning. Kimberley caravans have had their caravan since ordering the awning so could not of used it yet they have refused to give them their money back. Shame on you Darren you should be ashamed of yourselves as a business.

Oh dear, I have just bought a new Coachman from Kimberly after 6 years of "off road " caravanning courtesy of Robinsons and Bailey.
At least the caravan can't be as bad as the Bailey , l hope.!

I can't fault the service we have had from them, despite being 200 miles away they still arranged for a local engineer to come out and fix some issues with our van

Mister G, Interesting you should say that about the locks as one of our keys would not work in nearly all the locks and the other you had to shoogle it about to get it to work in some locks.

Phoned the dealer and they ordered and replacement key, took about three weeks to arrive and it worked in every lock first time. By this point the non replaced key had started working a lot better and is now good to go.

Anything going wrong from new is obviously the manufacturers fault. (but the dealer still has to sort it) I'm not sure if such as wheel nuts are checked as part of the PDI. Ive certainly never seen this happen. As for locks not working; its hard to see how a caravan can be demo'd without the lockers being opened, by either the salesman or the buyer. I'm not disputing the locks didnt work, but how it only came about once the unit left the yard, i cannot imagine.

A bit of gorm on inspecting prior to driving away would save a lot of bother later on. Check all lockers inside and out. Check whatevers supposed to be there is there. Check for dents, scratches, loose or broken fixtures and fittings. Even inquire as to whether the wheelnuts have been checked if need be (though i'll concede ive never done this myself, its amazing the blind faith we have!).

The sticking locks didn't make sense to me either!
The fact is they all worked at after taking delivery. Some were sticking but could be worked. When on site it was impossible to unlock several.I,and several others tried with both sets of keys. The dealer said it may be necessary to order 8 new locks but would try an overnight lubricant . This worked. It is clear there is a known problem.
Back to Kimberly Caravans subject. They took the van in when I moaned as we were going away. It was all done in a few days. While I was there a customer with a new van had loads of problems but was pleased with how Kimberly had dealt with him.

Kimberly bought out one of our local dealers (Burtree Caravans) a few years back.

Never bought a caravan from them but have to say every time I've been in store or bought anything they have been friendly, helpful, non-pushy and great to deal with
