hi new to the tin tent thing ,used to tents so got a few things to ask along the way.

looked in the front locker of our second hand purchase and there are 2 bottles in there so my question is do you take just 1 bottle to keep down the nose waight or carry 2 one as a spare.thanx

We most of the time carry just one a callor light to reduce nose weight, if we are rallying without electric we take an extra tiny bottle as emergency supply!

We just take one  7kg bottle and it will last us all year.

We carry 2 - although the caravan is fitted for 2 in the front locker the second doesn't fit. We carry the second behind the passenger seat in the car.

I think 2 in the front locker is not good for loading anyway.

we carry 2 lite bottles all the time but if im of electric for more than 5 days i take a 3rd, i dont want to run out, with littlen and god id get it in the neck if i ran out of gas.but ive only ever used a full bottle of gas on a trip once, in the winter.

We carry one, but own two the other one being for our BBq at home, but always make sure the full one goes on the van when we think its running low.

Where possible we use sites with EHU, so have onboard a small electric travel kettle, electric heating for hot water and warmth(already fitted), a toaster, mini microwave and a George Forman grill, so the main cooker is seldom used and for us its the only thing needing gas onboard the van, The weight we save from carrying the extra bottle is balanced by the extra bits of electrical kit which can be packed to better balance the vans noseweight.
