Always think of the dealers' service departments as the enemy (you wont go far wrong with that accumen)
So, as the addage goes......Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer !
You buy from a dealer half way accross the country and you may regret it!
Everything is great whilst you're handing over your hard earned on servicing. But wait 'til you try to claim on warranty issue, and your opinion differs to theirs.
Cynical I know but, be aware. Be very aware !
Yes a truer word could not be said , you may think that saving £500 is great until you need a warranty repair and then are faced with a long hike to your supplying dealer .
Not worth the hassle I could have saved £700 on my last new van by purchasing from a dealership 175 miles from home but chose to stick with my local dealership who are only 10 miles away and while not the cheapest give excellent service and who's customer back up is second to none which is more important to me than saving a few hundred pound's then having to travel 350 miles round trip for any problems .

We bought our caravan a couple of years ago from a dealer nearly three hours away because we saved around $2000 (cdn) compared to the dealers that were closer. We crossed our fingers that we wouldn't need any major warranty work and we were lucky. We had a couple of small things break but I just fixed them myself -- it was cheaper than paying for the gas to take it to the shop.
