Hi all.i was wondering how security concious you are while on site.Even if its just a weekend away,we always put our wheelclamp back on and also the hitchlock.Sometimes though i think we get looked on with distain because we usually end up next to a 20 grand van with no security devices on it at all and the occupants are like 'whos gonna steal that tiny plastic van' kind of thing. We dont care though, because its the only van we've got, and stopping short of sitting in it all day with a loaded shotgun to stop the thieves i'll use any security device i can to stop it getting nicked.

if you check your insurance it may say that the security fitting need to on with a set period after pitching up,ours does.at least the tow hitch and wheel clamp.i do it to make myself feel better about leaving the van anyway.at home it takes me 15 minutes to remove all the locks before we go.paranoid yes maybe but the vans still here so its working.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
We always use a hitch lock on site, your caravan is personal to you with personal possesions kept in side, it should be safe on site but you never know. If i get a pitch next to you Dreadnought we could however do shifts looking after each others vans, with that loaded gun and your dog of course!

we always put ours back on plus our insurance small print plus most others give me a time limit of 2 hours to put security devices back on or my insurance is in valid.
