I have a pack of 6 mats & use them as a path from the awning to the car when it is muddy, they do tend to bend & come undone now & again, for the awning i have a breathable ground sheet & every morning there are dozens of little mud worm rings on top of the sheet.
I've seen, and walked on, these as well - I think they would be perfect for a gravel hardstanding but like Steve wonder about their breathability and have had the same problems with a breathable groundsheet plus ripping out the grass which grows through it when taking it up.
I was told that these mats do allow the grass to breathe but we'll no doubt see what the site owners think of them soon
Don't forget that they are likely to be rather heavy as well...
We have a breathable carpet which worked very well in our Trailer Tent, we plan to use it in the awning, Didnt have any problems with worms or mud coming through
Only use the breathable ground sheet in the awning, no problems with it when dry. The only thing thats going to work in wet weather is a non breathable groundsheet/surface otherwise the water will come through.
