I got my 2004 Bailey Ranger 510/4 last May (2009). I have had her at a local storage yard when not in use. The thing is i have not washed her on the outside yet . I checked her out last week after all the bad weather and inside snug as a bug , but outside very dirty with black streaks underneath windows. It is in magnolia so has stood up pretty well ,but now i need to clean it . The thing is the storage yard has only got a cold water tap . S o where do i start . Can someone recommend a good cold water caravan cleaner . There are millions on the net . I was going to bring it to our local hand car wash but i heard the jet wash is no good for the van and will take the stickers off . Help !
I like the Care-avan polish - but I've not tried their "shampoo". As a fellow 04 Ranger 510/4 owner, I recommend giving a polish (at least to the front end - back and sides if you have time) as it helps it to keep cleaner longer.

Never mind the stickers a jet wash is quite likely to disturb the sealant around the rails. Fenwicks cleaner is fine, as are the autoglym products and most car cleaning products are fine with cold water. My van is cleaned before every trip and always has been but it rarely gets anything other than cold water even though it does sit in my front garden.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
I have several empty 25ltr plastic drums at home (builders FEB drums) fill them with hot water and take to my storage depot to wash the van. Use your favourite car shampoo, shammy dry and polish, don't forget your ladder for the roof. If you dont have drums, you could try using your aqua roll or waste master full off hot water - ps - bungy them to one side of boot, save any car floods
Great stuff is the Fenwicks- we dilute it to whatever strength it says and put in in a squirty bottle - hey presto, spray and scrub! I'm going to try it on the kids next...
On the first trip of the season the van gets a good once over, you can do a bit at at a time, its great on the windows as well ......I have 2 comercial vans to clean as well and have used this stuff for years. It really does what it says and you get it washed and polished all in one go. Incidentally I am just a happy customer, no way associated with the company.
For a quick once over Fenwicks is he only option followed by bobby dazzler..it keeps the vans and the caravan looking tip top.
Hi tonym,we use Proshine dry wash system, this product does not require any water and washes and polishes at the same time.Did our Sprite Major 5 last friday, took me 2 and a half hrs to do the whole van, which hadn,t been touched since August of last year.I did the van as soon as we got it,as this helps to prevent the black streaks from being hard to remove. This product is available on e-bay via netparts and there is a demonstration on there.Wouldn,t use anything else on my car or van,as you dont need anything else even over winter.Cheers John. Plenty more opinions on this product under dry wash on the topic search.
I've just started to use 'onedrywash'. There is a recent post on here called 'Dry Wash' - just do a search. As someone has already mentioned, you can easily do a bit at a time.
