Picked up our new van today and it was a pleasure. Tim at Broad Lane Leisure Alcester was excellent. The van was connected to all services and everything was explained to us in detail in a nice warm van. No rush to get us of the premises. What a nice day out unlike our last dealer whose comment at handover was " You've vanned for years so you know where everything is" and walked off.
Our handover lasted 2 hours. Even though we are experienced caravaners there was still a lot of new stuff to be shown. Our old van was 1999 and everything has changed.
I think I may have seen you picking up your van today, do you have a 4 wheel drive Kia and did you also buy camping chairs? Sorry but we were not being nosey but i get quite excited when i see someone collecting their caravanfrom dealer, it brings back happy memories.
Jerry and Tina - we had our new van last spring from the same dealer. Like you we were so impressed with the handover- explanations were so useful as our old van was ancient and everything was new to us!!!
Our van is going in for her first service next month - where has that year gone!!!
LOL yes Dazson that was us, what a pleasure it was compared to the other Worcs dealer!!!! but now I have a question, I am adding some more security to the van apart from the alarm, hitchlock and wheel lock. I am thinking of adding some corner steady locks but am unsure what ones I need. The Milenco ones look good but as the steady nut is accessed through the van skirt I am unsure if that will fit.
Hi we had exactly the same service when we picked up our new caravan from Mc Intyre caravans 2 weeks ago. Nothing was too much trouble, like you all the services were on in it makes such a difference to walk into a warm well lit van. Handover superb nothing too much trouble,no questions too trivial to answer, Hope you enjoy your new caravan as we will ours
We bought a pair of those Milenco steady locks. 2 minutes to fit, will not stop the determined thief, nothing will, but with the other security devices fitted may make them think twice and go for a softer target.
We have bought all our vans from Broad Lane Leisure and have always had excellent service. We didn't buy the last one from them as we wanted to sell our M/home and they weren't in the market then. We had also moved down south.
Bought our last van from Discover. That's when we found out what a decent outfit Broad Lane were!!!!!!!!!!
Tks for that John, Our last dealer was an absolute nightmare (thread on here somewhere) It makes me feel a lot better should we ever have issues with the van.
We've just ordered a van from Broad Lane at the NEC show and were impressed by the amount of time they spent with us explaining everything. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Looking forward to picking it up in May now :-)
Your coming a long way Janet, Allow 2 hours for the handover, plenty free tea or coffee to keep you going and don't forget your 10% off in the shop too.
We're really looking forward to it and will make a weekend out of the pick-up. We got plenty of free coffee and tea from them at the show. As I said before we were impressed by how much time they took with us. One of our local dealers who was at the show was very abrupt. He quoted a price for the van within 2 minutes of talking to us and then expected us to sign on the dotted line immediately.
Broad Lane have told us that servicing will be no problem as we can have it done at home by our usual mobile service man as he is registered so we won't have to keep returning to the Midlands.
