Hi brfc, cant help with the weight of your van, but there should be a small plate either on the A frame or round the door area,if you cant get the weight, you could take out all  removable things, exept for upholstery, battery and fittings, take van to your local weighbridge and get it weighed,it does not cost, unless you wish it on a weight ticket. hope this helps

I had a Vectra 1800 petrol and although the caravan that I pulled was slightly lighter than your van I found it to be quite a good towcar, I would check the car's manual to be sure though.

Hi we have an Abi globestar 1991 which has an unladen weight of 980kg which was one of the reasons we chose this model, the main reason being its lovely layout the nice quality of the fittings and as soon as we stepped into her she felt like home. I will say in our search we must have looked at over 100 caravans mainly a dealers and as soon as we stepped into our globestar we fell in love so possibly the right van for you might be this one depends how you feel when you see and inspect it.

The layout is a twin dinette, both dining areas make into double beds divided by a curtain, it has shower and cassette toilet. The fittings are lovely quality and we even have a lovely cabinette with wine bottle holders and Abi award wine glasses clipped in. There seems to be plenty of storage and as the van is only approx 19ft long it can be stored at home which is a bonus.

We brought ours early last summer and think she is perfect we have a large dog, 2 adults and a strapping teenager who all fit in with comfort. Our caravan has remained cosy all winter so if theres no damp in the van you are viewing I can heartily recommend this van. There are a few reviews for this van on preloved if you want to take a look everyone I read says if you find a good one they are great.

http://www.whattowcar.com take a look here the globestar isn't on its list of caravans we tend to use the weight for the ace brightstar which has a weight of 1180 which is about what the globestar is fully laden, but you could find a caravan with a 980kg miro if you look at other manufacturers.  The vectra comes under the car manufacturer opel.
