Hookup. Mine is the Rapier 110 2002. It has been very reliable until 2 weeks ago when the clutch and dual mass flywheel went costing £800. Brand new van & car had to come home on a tow truck on our 1st outing.

Had it since Sept 2005 with 25K now on 109K, paid £7000.   I find 5th gear a bit high, so tend to use 4th for inclines on the motorway. You really need to be above 62mph indicated for 5th to really take off.

The old van was 1200kg MTPLM, the new is 1326kg. It feels heavier on hills but is just as stable. I think the manufacturers put all the heavy equipment over the axle now which helps a lot. If yours is 800kg you won't know it's there and will have to keep a careful eye on the speedo. Mine went up to 75mph once when I wasn't paying attention.

Thanks for the info. Mine is a 2002 lxhdi 110. 2litre turbo estate. Cost me £1050. Will have to check out the kerb weight.

We dont make up our front double (just use it as 2 singles) for me and OH (he goes to the loo a lot at night and drove me mad climbing over me!) - the double at the back is made up for my eldest dd (26) and youngest dd (13)

Our ideal caravan would have made up singles at the back and be able to use the front seats as singles too.....there probably is a caravan out there like this but it would cost more than we can afford and also would be heavier than our van...sighs....
