advice wanted, looking at getting a freedom jetstream or sunseeker, been to freedom place but disappointed with what was on offer. We got about 5k to spend but they seem a bit difficult to get hold of. Seen some on ebay but they are advertising with minor repairs, i.e. roof sagging seem to be going for between £995 and £1900. Should we stay away from these vans or take the risk to ensure we can manage with the small van, we got TT at mo and want to upgrade but need small van due to our 1.4 renault megane sports tourer having max load of 1,010kg leaving us with 85% around 850kg
Hi we have a 99 sunseeker but i think the roof linings were much improved in these later models. The Freedom place in Stafford is not cheap when looking for a used van.I know of a couple of people with older Freedoms who have done cheap diy jobs on the roof linings with foam backed carpet tiles and the look good.Theres not much more that goes wrong with them.Be warned though,They will seem positively tiny compared with your tt even with the awning up which we always have to do and there are only two of us.Another thing is the weight. We tow with a 1.6 petrol and regardless of comments like'you cant even tell you are towing it' and ''it can be towed by anything,i can tell you that we can always tell we're towing it,especially on hills.Hope this helps.

The 85% rule applies to the kerbweight of your car not the max braked trailer towing weight.
We towed ours with a 1.4 focus then a 1.6 cmax no problem!
Our roof lining sagged a bit in places (it was a 2005 sunseeker) think its bound to happen on what ever model due to the design, not a problem though, looking back should have kept ours!
We have a Fleurette Tamaris 31T too, (not that we are thinking of selling it!). We towed with a 1.2 Micra petrol, have since changed to a 1.5 Micra diesel. Both these cars are a doddle to tow with & with the pop-top there is less drag.
Certainly worth thinking about.
We our love our Tamaris!!
