My planks aren't heavy, but in any event you do need to carry blocks for all sorts of reasons, so it's quite a necessary sort of weight. I don't think two strong levelling devices would weigh much less. And you would still need blocks, for example if you had a flat tyre and couldn't get the jack under.
Nose weight or indeed total weight has never been an issue fo me. That's why I have a bigger car than I need, just so I have a safety margin on things like this.
I don't think the two planks together would be 10kg. Also, unlike levelling devices, planks never fail....
