Just because you have a caravan does it mean that you can't sit outside? We used to be 'tent campers' but now that we have a caravan we don't just sit inside. We also cook outside rahter than inside , weather permitting of course. We haven't given up 'camping' just because we now have the comforts of a caravan!

Back to Dreadnoughts OP, no we wouldn't go back to 'tent' camping but everything else is the same, we just have a caravan instead of a tent.

Thats very doubtful viggo,as underneath the Ukcampsite logo you will find it says ''the online destination for CARAVANNERS and CAMPERS'' and to the left are two little drawings of a caravan and a tent.I suspect this sub heading is there for people who may be getting a little confused between the two.Hope this helps.

True. I'll give you that one. <IMG src="https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley32.gif" width=18 align=absMiddle>

So, when I pull on to a CAMP site with my caravan, and then set up CAMP on my CAMPING pitch, I'm still not camping? How camp do you want me to be?

Over the last 5 years, we moved from a tent to a folding camper and now to a caravan.  Our main reason for changing was purely down to setting up and packing up time.  When we bought the folding camper we thought we had solved it because according to the video it took no time at all to set up and pack up!  Well it took ages and also the fear of packing up a wet canvas in the rain!  We quite often cut our holiday short and came home a day early because the canvas was dry.  We are looking forward to not worrying about that.  We will have an awning, but it will our choice when we take it down and if it is taken down the night before we can still stay that night.

I was very comfortable camping, but when we got the folding camper was glad to get rid of the sleeping bags and have duvets.  So looking forward to comfort now!

Saying all this I can't get rid of my cabanon bardados pyramid tent.  Really quick to put up and is ideal if just the two of us want to go away.  We don't take much with us so set up time is small.  Kids refuse to come
