I have a broken ankle so staying in caravan on drive as easier to get around. Used gas heater tonight (trumatic) for first time but usually use elec. Can I leave it on overnight? If not, do I just depress dial to zero (btw 2007 caravan )
Thank you.
The gas heating in the caravan can be used at any time day or night. The heater does not suddenly become dangerous because the sun has gone down and you have gone to bed. The gas system is sealed and completely safe provided as with a household unit it is properly maintained. I would suggest that your main concern is that if the gas system failed in the night you may be overcome by carbon monoxide fumes. This is unlikely, but to ease your worries you may want to fit a carbon monoxide alarm.
It is different from most household fires in that in most household fires the flame is in the same environment, but in the caravan system it is sealed off from the inside of the van. I hope this makes sense.
