We have the Sterling equivalent. The Alde CH is excellent, but yes, it does take about an hour to heat up the van.
If it is really cold, what we do is use our Tesco fan heater on 1kw, set the Alde on 1Kw, and if it is REALLY cold, put on the gas too.
The Alde uses 2Kw on electricity, and on gas puts out 6Kw, so it heats up much quicker on gas. You can use both together.
There is a programmer, so it is really good, we are very pleased with it.
