I've looked at them before some time ago and thought they were a good idea but it was pointed out at the time that they weren't "sold secure" and therefore not accepted by insurance.
I'm not sure about now though and will be interested in reading others replies

I've never been asked what what kind of clamp I have when I've taken out insurance, I've just had to confirm that I use one.

Likewise, first I've heard of that.
When buying security items I would want to see it first and be able to better assess just how robust it is. I tend to get that kind of thing from local shops as if there are any problems it's easier to get it sorted out.
I used one of these for years (a replacement after we had a van stolen). It's pretty hefty, and has two different locks, but it's a bit fiddly to install. Never needed to use the leveller, though, so I can't say how good it might be. (I did test it when I bought it, and it worked O.K. on the drive.) I've just sold it to someone who thought it was worthwhile.
Thanks to Nora and Le Pantom for their comments - nice to hear that about the insurance issue - now we just need someone to say what the leveling bit is like didn't one of the other leveling only manufacturers change the design slightly because it was very hard to lift the van using the screw jack?
The ground contact area looks very small on the unit so it might only be suitable for concrete or hard standings most security is good against the casual thief a friend of ours had his van stolen and was shocked by the ease with which they removed the Milenco wheel clamp using only a length of scaffold pole which was found still attached to the clamp next to where the van was stored I will not go to far into the details of how it was done because it is easily replicated and lots of us use this model of clamp and Milenco have since modified it to make this particular attack more difficult.
After being through the screw up leveller experience we have reverted to a wooden multi stepped wedge made of pieces of 19 mm exterior plywood, about 9" wide. At least that does not sink into soft ground [straining the steadies], twist the tyres or topple over and the tow car can do the hard work bit.
Why not ask your insurance co. which clamps are valid and which aren't.They may ask you if you have a wheel clamp, but won't ask you what make it was until the van gets stolen, then they may say that clamp wasn't an approved clamp.Similar thing has happened to my neighbour ,his insurance company wouldn,t pay out after a break in because he didn't have the right locks on his doors. He'd been paying insurance for 5 years with no cover and didn't realise it till he made a claim
