after reading lots of posts on here regarding bailey pegasus quality issues and the condition the vans get to the dealers still with mastic, sawdust in cupboards bits of plastic everywhere, marks on walls etc .have they got any quality checks in the factory at all ? I work in car manufacture and dread to think what the cars would be like leaving the factory if we used the same quality standards as bailey do with the presentation of their vans.. surly its not down to the dealers to clean the rubbish excess sealer etc & get the vans up to a standard we will accept
These are the sought of issues that ruined my old firm Rover Cars, the quality control was awful, especially in the 70's and 80's. It's a shame because it doesnt take a lot of effort and Baileys could have a winner with thier new costruction methods.

just that the dealer charges you £500 PDI and it still has all the faults when you get it as it left the factory.time we had a JD power survey as they did with the cars.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

Sorry but I've never found that to be the case, the charge is often negotiable, and I've never had a van delivered with faults. Maybe I'm lucky, I wouldn't want to put a hex on my new van!!!!!!!!!!! which so far is fine.
It is up to the dealer to prepare the van for delivery, but some of them are prepare to take you money and not do the job properly.

you are lucky, there are lots on here that buy new caravans and find faults of various kinds,be it sawdust, screws protruding or missing, laminate peeling or damaged.dirty finger marks on the roof.my roof is still marked from 2003.just found out my large skylight has only been secured by three sides as the hole is cut too large.just needed a good windy day to remove it onto the motorway.i was at a site and a guy with a twin axel new.had water pouring from the floor big style.he had just picked it up from the dealer.there was a pipe disconnect under the sink.lucky i spotted it he had not a clue there was a problem.less than one hour checking the caravan before delivery could avoid all this disappointment.like this one
Bought mine about a year ago. When I collected it, it was clean and shiny, all polished, and everything worked! I did not pay a delivery charge either!
It's down to the dealer.

Time to name my 'lucky' dealers over the last few vans.....
Robinsons - Chesterfield - Coachman, Broad Lane - Rugby - Eldiss, Chichester Caravans at Birmingham and Bromsgrove - both Bailey,. These cover 16 years and all were excellent. Before that I was unfortunate enough to buy a Swift from a now defunct dealer in Spondon, Derby - no surprise they went out of business years ago.
I've read the Pegagus Problems - so far they don't apply to mine - no doubt time will tell.
Saw our new Pegasus the other day at dealers,it was clean, but everything was wrapped in plastic inside The trip to the dealers see to shake out any loose bits of plastic etc!
I know it will be spotless and all tested on collection, as its not the first we have had from our dealer (Salop Caravans at Cosford).
Got to get the old one out this weekend, empty it and drop it in so they can swap the mover across.Collect on 12th yippee!!!

you`ll be lucky , ours has towed 350 miles (mainly to and from the dealers) and still bits of plastic appearing in the top lockers.the ceiling lights are full of it as well.
off to chatsworth tomorrow with it, wonder what will fall off in that 65 mile journey ?
