Hi all,

After some excellent advice on here last year I have bought a Cadac ready for the spring and our first trip out of the year. However, I have a couple of questions that I'd like to ask:

1) What gas do you use?

2) Would you 't off' you existing supply and run a pipe to the Cadac or cant that be done?

3) If yes to the above, does that cause restrictions on where you can use it because of the length of hose?

3) Is it better to have a mini portable bottle of gas separate to the van's supply so as you can use the Cadac anywhere?

we run ours off propane.

on our prevoius vans we ran it off a seperate cylinder with its own regulator meaning we werent restricted by the hose length which i think is restricted to around 2metres max you can buy in one length.

our new van has a barbecue point so it will be running from there now.

We now have 2 hoses, one that has a quick release connector and plugs into the side of the van. The 2nd has a propane regulator on and goes on our spare gas bottle and hence can be moved - see Mobile Cadac link below :

Hi,

Couldn't caravan without my Cadac.

Your Cadac will run on Butane or Propane, without modification.

We have a Tee to the 'van gas system, to a barbeque point, which works well for short holidays.

For longer stays, I take a small butane bottle, so we have more freedom. We can also carry it to the beach for a cook-up beside the Med!!

If you use a barbeque point, and use an awning, keep it AWAY from the sides!!
