just wondered if anyone has any tips/advice for my O.H.who is maybe considering taking a course and becoming a mobile caravan sevice engineer. He is looking into it at the moment but is unsure as to what courses he will need.
He has spent many years in the motor trade as a fitter/mechanic and for the past seven years been in engineering.
Over the past year his job has been very unstable, so feels he must try to have a plan for the future. He is very adaptable and can turn his hand to anything and of course knows the in's and out's of a caravan.
Someone asked a similar question a while back, and quite a long thread ensued - but I can't find it.
I think the gist of it was that it's no good going for one of the companies that reckon they can train you in a short time, and it may be better to work for a dealer first and let them pay for your training. But I may be wrong.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
Thank you michael for the link, he has seen tose people and sent off for details. Sounds very short being only five days but as he has said he is not entirely green, he does have extensive knowledge of 12v, mechanics, etc etc. along with a life times knowledge of the workings of a caravan so it's not like someone starting from scratch.
I think it's just trying to cover all angles and taking the plunge.
