Has anyone heard anymore about this caravan mover which I believe Alko are supposed to launching this spring. I am currently considering getting a mover and wonder what the new Alko offering is like.
The magazines were advertising this for the last few months and said it was being unveilled at the NEC show last month. We will be interested in having one of these when we change our caravan next year. It would be good to hear from anyone who went to the show and had a look at this.

I think it's only suitable for 2010 chassis's onwards, as the chassis is pre drilled to accept it. Other movers can be bought for less than half the price, and just do the same job. The big advantage of the Mammut is the fact that it doesn't protrude below the lower level of the chassis itself, and therefore doesn't reduce the ground clearance.
The rep on the alko stand ,was demo this to me at the show , pre drilled mammut chassis ,which you lose no ground clearance are on sale from April at £1200 , after market that clamps on the chassis and you lose 2inch or50mm ground clearance , are £1350 , must say i was very impressed with it , he took me to a caravan with one fitted , and you struggled to even see it ,

This only applies if you DO NOT have a spare wheel carrier. Otherwise the after market option is no lower than the spare wheel carrier. Quoted £1375 +vat for at home fitting. Total weight of unit 29KGs.
