At last my folks have actually ordered their new van (newbies) It's a sprite Finesse2 they should be collecting it from the dealership (Lye caravans Brierley hill) in may.
Which wheel lock is regarded as "the best" or the most effective. They will be purchasing an Alko hitch lock but unsure about the wheel lock.
All the best
Steve
Yes good point Jennifer I forgot to add that it does have the Alko wheel lock receiver fitted..Thanks
If the van has an Alko wheel lock receiver fitted, then the Alko wheel lock is good. Otherwise go for a good "sold secure" approved one such as the Milenco or similar.
The heavier the better.
This makes it heavy to take along on holiday of course, so from that point of view the Alko is easier. Otherwise they could get a lighter weight one for touring holidays.
Best to check first what their insurance will require.

Having had a bright yellow thing in the past & found it in my neighbours hedge after it had been twisted off our caravan, I wouldn't have anything other than an Al-Ko lock on my caravan.
you dont need an angle grinder or a blow torch to remove them , go onto youtube and type in barrel locks and they will demonstrate a device that will open the locks in seconds
The Alko wheel lock is sold secure diamond standard. If the barrel lock is removed then the security bolt still has to be removed, which if fitted correctly will be torqued to 86Nm.
I believe some insurance companies offer significant discounts if this lock is fitted.
I found that the Al-Ko reduced my insurance with the C&CC by £100 per annum. So the way I look at it, I have recovered the additional cost in one year.
But then I do have a mover which makes fitting a little more bearable.
