Not another mover question I hear you ask....

Has anyone got eh E-go caravan mover, it looks like a neat unit.

If anyone has got, what are your thoughts and is there any pros and cons with it?

Is it cheap for a reason?

E-Go have been on the market for about a year now, via homestead caravans.  I have fitted one of these for a colleague and they look & feel like a really good engineered piece of kit.  They have launched a twin axle version this year.  I have heard no issues about them and my colleague's has been giving him no problems.

Cheers, Nigel

most products purchased in the uk will be covered for a least 5 years it is part of the sales of goods act. Extended warranties are a RIP OFF as the shop is selling you something you already have a legal right to. Have a read through this website.
www.consumerdirect.gov.uk

i cut and paste this info from the section "extended warranties"

"The UK already has far greater protection for consumers than is generally found in the EU legislation. Some of the benefits of the Sale of Goods Act include a 6 year statutory limitation period as opposed to the 2 years offered by EU, which means that you can bring a claim for up to 6 years in the UK and Wales and 5 years in Scotland and can reject goods and claim a refund of the price paid under certain circumstances."

Mine arrived last week, haven't got around to fitting it yet.

2 year warranty.

I have the fitting video on DVD, it's the same as this one,

Part 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mVYNS3alDc

Part 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4Z6SZwGAFc

but they have re-filmed the shots that feature the e-go parts...

Hope that helps

Mark.

I have been following the threads re the Ego caravan Mover and I am about to place an order for a self fit single axel mover for my Lunar quasar 460/2 which comes in at 1200kg max. From the discussion it seems that the Ego is a good buy for the price with no serious faults reported so I think I have chosen a suitable mover at a good price(£599).

Two points I would like to hear from members about to help me with the decision are to are:

1, Will a mover really be of use to me if my caravan is a smallish two birth and I do not have a sloping drive to cope with?

2, Will the E-Go mover fit my caravan if it is fitted with shoock absorbers?

PS I would prefer to fit it behind the wheels to reduce any adverse nosewieght effects but I have a spare wheel carrier fitted.

Muleskin
Modern cars dont like reversing under load, so it will help the clutch if you use the mover on site, i dont think fitting it in front of the wheels will make any difference
as its so close to the axle, my van has shock absorbers fitted im waiting for someone to reply on that

Have had our EGO for just under a year now.

Fitted it myself with no problems and the unit has worked superbly up to now.

An excellent bit of kit the only slight downside is the number of turns required to wind the motors onto the tyres. A battery drill is a must in my opinion and a suitable 19mm socket is suppilied with the unit to achieve this. I must add there is a definate advantage to this winding mechanism in that you can adjust the friction on the tyres to allow for different surfaces etc. [there is a  knuckle type socket also supplied that will fit onto an ordinary corner steady brace if  you so wish.

As regards the noseweight if fitted in front of the tyres, this will be negligible and the motors etc will not get so much road dirt etc thrown up on them if fitted in front.

The quality of the unit is apparent immediately you open the box, you will not be disappointed!

Dave

Fitted mine 2 months ago to a Lunar Quasar 534.Fitted the mover on the front of the wheel where the shock absorbers are no problem with clearance. It is great to get the caravan back into storage and to get the Aalco lock in without all that pushing and pulling. Slight increase in nose weight but easily adjusted. Looks a nice piece of equipment.
