If I were you, I'd sit the axle on a piece of RSJ each side, I do this during the time our van is laid up. I simply jack it up, slide the RSJ (A Big one for stability) under the axle with a thin piece of wood between it & the axle so it's not metal on metal & lower the van back down. This only takes 5 minutes & keeps the weight off the suspension units as well as the tyres. You can leave your wheel security in place to satisfy the insurers & everything is happy.
