Where pray did I suggest that you did?  I would never do that as I like to know where I am going when I set off, though I know of many club members who do just turn up and get pitches.

What I actually say is

"When you arrive at a club site you book in and pay your fees, no deposits are taken so the whole fee is paid at this time, you are then given information about the site and are told to go go and have a look at the pitches available ( all empty pitches are available ) choose one, set up and then let the wardens know where you have gone " 

please note the statement that no deposits are taken  which you  miss out in what you say. 

As I have said before personally I would never ever set off without having a booking for where I am going but I do know of many who do set off without bookings and who rarely arrive at their intended CC site destination and are turned away.  However, like myself they use a bit of common sense in choosing where they go and are well aware that there are a few sites that are very very popluar and would never arrive at these sites without a booking, or an alternative place to go.

Im in the c/club, But if you ask 100 caravaners what they think you will get alot of different answers, we joined both clubs and kept membership for many years, but found that we liked the cleanliness of the c/club, .not saying there is anything wrong with the c/c/c but as I said every body to their own, but why not join both clubs and see what you think because I think they both offer excellent value for money,about   £ 50/60 total for the two and they both give a good starter pack with thousands of sites between them, the books they give you are great  Happy caravaning
