I connect my whale aqua source straight from the tap into the caravan. You may need an adapter to screw onto the tap to connect your whale aqua source to. Same kind of tap adaptor you use for connecting the garden hose to the tap. I checked with Whale first and their technical folk told me that for any caravan that takes the whale pump from an aquaroll its Ok just to connect straight to the caravan. Never had a problem. The whale aqua source adjusts pressure so as not to damage the water tank etc.

Seen many posts on here about connecting from the tap into your water hog and then use the normal whale pump to pump through from the water hog. Never understood why.

One poster has commented that he didn't want water under pressure entering the van and I have heard others express the same view. That prompted me to contact Whale before I bought the aqua source.

If it is of assistance, as I understand the position, the average mains water pressure tends to be around 3 bar during the day and slightly lower at peak usage times. As usage drops during the late evening and early hours the pressure rises, and can get up to or exceed 10 bar. Within the aqua source they say that there is an inbuilt regulator that regulates mains water pressure to a nominal 1.5 bar. See

and scroll down for this element of the specification. So the pressure entering the van is half normal tap pressure. If that helps the original poster

Its brilliant on a fully serviced site. No need to drag the water butt across the site. No need to top up the night before in the dark. But best of all, I can't be accused of using all the water in the shower in the morning! Hurrah!!!!! Little lady happy for the day

How very true. Even roll mine up and store it away when we go away from the van. There are many what iffs in caravanning and I think if we worry too much we would stay at home. Just recognise the issues and act cautiously. e.g connect to van first then tap then turn on. The other round and as the hose unwinds as the water goes through the water shoots all over the place and you're drenched! Very entertaining when I saw someone try it that way!!!!
