hi,can any one tell me what width waste pipe will i need to fit over the waste outlets?do you just push it over or is there a proper conection attachment.are all waste outlets the same size?i have a1997 elddis.thanks in advance.stupid question i know but i`m new to caravaning.
It just pushes onto the outlet. There are 2 standard widths of pipe in use, sorry I cannot say which one you will need but someone will be along shortly who will know.

Consider using the smooth bore flexible pipe (garden centres/fish pond suppliers) rather than the ridged stuff. The latter holds bits of food and grease and starts to pong after a while. I replaced as much as possible with rigid pie (28.5mm)
Have I missed something here, I understood the waste pipe was to be fitted at the "waste outlets", if so why the needfor a jubilee clip to hold it on? I have never had any bother with the waste pipe coming of!!

In theory you shouldn't need a jubilee clip for the reinforced water hose either - the 'barbs' should be adequate to hold them on - but they are fitted.
A waste pipe coming off will make more of a lasting mess than a water inlet pipe - all for a saving of under £2
I had mine like that at first but found the 32mm pipe is a push fit into the van socket
The long length is useful on a sloping pitch
If you notice on the pic I have a spare socket and this is piped to the rear of the van in 32mm pipe so that I can connect the side outlet to the rear one when the canopy(shed) is up on long holidays or if a grid is available to the van rear
hi john m8,not been here for a bit.bet you have been out in that caravan again.lol.only trouble with this site people keep disappearing for a week or two.i think it was you who gave me the idea of making what i have now.alarm doing well.just as well we have had tea leafs in the last week breaking into sheds and vans.mines ok.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
on our last trip, when I let the washing up water out, it all came back up into the shower. It seemed as though the waste pipe wasn't big enough i guess - would that sound right or might there be another reason why it backed up? The waste container was certainly not full.
