Disconnect the wires to the motor, now remove the three nuts and bolts that hold the motor in place, Remove the motor and the shaft will just pull out towards the centre of the van.

What I just forgot to mention was that Reich have now replaced the grit rollers with alloy  rollers, which I am pleased to say are only a fraction of the weight of the grit ones.

Which means that you will now have to buy a pair !

I recall that I did not need to fully remove the drive motor/gear box, leaving it loosely connected by one of the bolts. This saves dealing with the weight of that unit.
You need enough clearance to lift the roller off its outside bearing, then you can draw it outwards. Very simple job.

Does putting them in your "gallery" solve the problem?

Similar thing happened to us recently - got the dealer to replace them with the alloy rollers.  They seems to grip a lot better.

Cost us arounf £100 fitted.

If your movers are under warranty then they should certainly supply new rollers,

Hi Kevin,
I've just changed from grit to alloy rollers on a reich mover, the old steel roller shaft is 35mm & the alloy shaft is 31mm in diameter which means the new shaft will not be supported in the middle by the hard plastic block which would put huge strain on the drive motor bearings. You need to order two new plastic blocks from reich uk. 01543-275929 ask for Rick Gorton & tell him you need the middle plastic suport blocks for 31mm alloy shafts,he will post them to you. You will also have to set the space between the new rollers & tyres to 15mm/20mm, too wide a gap & the rollers will slip. The mover is clamped to the chasis with four 8mm u-bolts,if these are rusted you might sheer them and then need new u-bolts,be warned.
The 2 bolted plates you see either side of the mover are safety clamps to prevent any movement backwards on the mover.
Rick is away quite regularly at shows, if he is away when you phone you will be put onto Germany and told when he will be due back.

Hope this is of some help to you .Any problems, just ask.

George
