They may do in Scotland Lobey, but they won't or shouldn't south of the border. All my local factors won't, and have notices up saying what documentation is required before they will supply a plate. Oddly enough I can go to the local market and buy a stick-on plate and stick-on letters provided it's not for use on a vehicle or its trailer.        By the way, how are the toes now?

        Pete.

Hi Pete,
We get our modern car Reg Plates made up through the local Motor Factors or the local garage. No papers required.

Our older cars that require the same type/colour of number plates back and front and one that requires the triangular numbers, are bought, without papers either through club contacts or on the internet.

Toes wise, I was at the podiatrist today and have got the dressings off of one toe but still need to keep dressing the other toe which has not healed yet.

This is due to an injury I got in 1972 on board a ship in the south atlantc when I lost that nail in an accident. The scar under the nail, while not apparent at the time or afterwards, is showing up now and is taking its time to heal.

As long as everything is A1 by the start of the camping season, I will be happy.

Yes I agree with the motor factor route. Got one made up recently for the caravan there and was asked for proof of ownership. Didn't have anything with me but offered to come back later. Then got talking about something else and in the end he did me one on the condition I didn't advertise the fact he had made it up for me!

Worth a try.

Paul

This has come up ona recent thread IIRC.

AIUI it is not legal to drive the car with out the rear plate when towing

Just take the one off the back of the car and fix it to the trailer temporarily.  It IS legal.

Well I wish this thread had been put up before I went and had mine made up at my local motor store - £10.
