Congratulations - thats just what happened to us when we bought our first caravan. Have you got a two bar on the car?!!!

A brillant book to get that tells you so much is the Haynes caravan manua (not the repair oen) it explains so much.

Congratulations on buying a very fine van. We had the 1999 510/4 for 7 years and loved it. Now got fixed bed as there's only two of us now.

Use propane gas, it works when its cold which butane doesn't. Check your towball.If the van has an Al-ko stabiliser (with a red lever on top of the hitch) the tow ball needs to have an extended head and must be free from grease. If its a blade type stabiliser you'll need the appropriate bracket on the car. Levelling ramps (or wood)

You need twin electrics on the car, 12s and 12n sockets, Step, sparker for the cooker (no electronic ignition on a Ranger). Mains hookup lead. Big foot pads under the legs. Probably find the aerial won't work on many sites especially on digital.

Check the noseweight, it can be heavy on the 510/4 with the front chest full and spare wheel in the locker.

Get some good security devices for the van, wheel clamp,  hitch lock.

Ah ha.... it will all fall into place....or out!!! take it away for a weekend...somewhere near a good accessory stockist!!!

Congratulations, we have a Bailey and are very happy with it. On our first trip in our last caravan, we collected from the dealer, went to Scone Caravan Site and this was quite near the dealer, unloaded all the stuff from the old caravan and .........we have forgotten the elctric hook up, we had to go out and buy another.
