Before buying the mover, I spent a long while looking at the various products on the market, I saw lots of products at the NEC and read forums such as this.

I researched the various manufacturers in the UK and in Europe and read that the next generation products are likely to include caravan tyre pressure monitors and GPS caravan tracker technology. It seems the market is becoming overcrowded and companies will have to differentiate themselves if they are to survive.

I compared the three different types of mover; cam, winder and electically operated. I decided that the simplicity of the cam type was best for me.

I wanted to fit the mover myself.

I decided that Towsure had the best value product. I picked it up from their shop in Sheffied and was given 5% Caravan Club discount, it cost £475. It is actually the Enduro Series II from Purpleline. The Remote control and Electronics weren't branded as Towsure or Enduro. They are actually the Ego mover parts!

The brochures for the Enduro and Ego are almost identical in size and layout, so perhaps there is some connection between the two companies.

I fitted it last weekend, taking time to study the fitting instructions and watched a very good Enduro installation video I found on Youtube.

Things to beware of ?

1. Take time to decide on the best location to fit the electronics, you dont want to lose under seat storage space if at all possible.

2. Make sure you have all necessary tools before you get started, such as a torque wrench and crimper for the cable connections.

3. Mark the ends of the left and right motor cables, I used red and black tape.

4. The instructions don't suggest fitting a fuse in line between the battery and the isolator switch. I think this would be a good precaution.

So once you'd fitted it what did you think to it?  I love my mover.  Each time i use it i'm reminded of having to push my old 'van over deeply pitted ground just to get it in its place.  Worth every penny!!

I fitted the mover over 2 afternoons. Day 1 was spent planning how I was going to do the installation. I fitted the motors and cross actuator bar. The motors are very heavy and it really needs 2 people as it is not easy to lift the motors onto the chassis clamps. The box the motor came in proved to be very useful as it it the right height to rest the motor on while bolting it into place.

Day 2 was spent doing the wiring (I took agreat deal of care on this and ran all the wiring in trunking). I used strips of velcro to attach the electronics to the caravan wall under the bed box next to the battery.

Currently the cheapest around, with the e-go in second place and the rhyno I beleive in 3rd place. Their have been suggestions that all three are the same mover with different branding and in the case of the towsure version, some have claimed to have both rhyno and e-go branded components included.

Has anyone been able to get Powrtouch to price match the towsure model? The towsure mover brings prices back to what the enduro was selling for 3 years ago. Although not many of them were selling as they were being price matched by the Powrtouch Model 3 in most cases.

The Enduro and Powrtouch are smilar, but when you look closely they are different designs. See links below.

Towsure are currently buying the Enduro, all the packaging etc is Enduro.
Powrtouch

Enduro Series II

I believe Enduro are currently buying in the electonics from Ego, they normally have the remote made with their logo on it, but mine is the standard Ego remote and electronics.

See links below.

Considering one of these myself. If anyone has a Towsure mover fitted, can you let me know if you're happy with it, as at that price, it's by far the cheapest one. I would also have to have it fitted, so how much would that be on top?

bear in mind that there is only a 12 month warranty with towsure and not 5 years as with others.

we are having an enduro 2 fitted next weds.he is coming out to where our van is parked at the moment as i am slowly repairing damp at the front end.

as we have an elddis with bpw chassis,it needs extra clamps to fit, think its very good value as the company carrys all fittings on their vans.

only £724.00 fully fitted,so we are happy.
